AFF 2014 Scholarship Recipient The AFF Scholarship committee is pleased to announce Kevin Fraley as the recipient of the award this year. Kevin Fraley is enrolled in the Master’s Degree program at the University of Alaska Fairbanks School of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (SFOS). His research focuses on resident rainbow trout including their habitat use and seasonal movements in Willow Creek using implanted radio telemetry tags in 40 adult rainbow trout. Several anglers reported catching the tagged fish during 2013 and reported the trout appeared healthy and healing nicely after the surgery. Habitat mapping was completed during the summer of 2014 and he will analyze the data and write his thesis during this academic year. Besides his busy schedule, Kevin won several other awards for professional presentations and he is serving as President of the UAF American Fisheries Society Student sub-unit for 2014-15. |
