The Super Salmon | 25 minutes Follow the incredible true story of one determined king salmon that traveled more than 300 miles up Alaska's mighty Susitna River, challenging assumptions about how far salmon swim and what could be lost to a proposed hydroelectric dam. Produced by filmmaker Ryan Peterson in partnership with the Susitna River Coalition (SRC), with support from Patagonia, this award-winning short film captures the beauty of the Susitna, its extraordinary salmon runs, and the Alaskans fighting to keep it free-flowing. SRC helped bring this film to life as part of its campaign to protect the Susitna from the proposed Susitna-Watana Dam. More than a decade later, the coalition continues working to protect the river, its salmon habitat, and the communities that depend on it.
